Yesterday after a internship interview, I was walking around SoHo and TriBeCa, and I got lost. Even in the cold, and not dressed warm enough (totally underestimated the weather), I didn’t even mind. I just walked and walked, exploring the streets and doing a lot of window shopping #brokecollegestudentproblems. I thought about the feedback I got from the interview; I was a good candidate, but I just need a bit more experience. Initially I was upset but I thought about it as I walked. My interviewers invested their time in me and gave me advice to gear me in the right direction, which is amazing, considering they could’ve spent their time working. Which made me realize I’ve been too focused planning things rather than being prepared to deal with the present. Sometimes all you need is a different perspective, and a breath of fresh air, simply be patient.
